SEATTLE, Wash. – The fifth-seeded University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team fell 1-0 in the semifinals of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament to top-seeded Seattle University on Friday at Championship Field.
 
The match remained scoreless until the 77
thminute, when Seattle U's (11-7-2, 6-1-1 WAC) 
Lauren Brown scored her first goal of the season making it 1-0.
 
UTRGV (9-7-2, 3-3-1 WAC) put the pressure on Seattle U with the clock winding down as a header from senior goal keeper 
Kinga Szemik was saved by Seattle U goal keeper 
Madison Waguespack to close out the match. 
 
Szemik finished the match with six saves while Waguespack three saves. 
 
Sophomore 
Emily Zapata recorded a match-high four shots with one on goal.
 
UTRGV was outshot 18-9 and 7-3 on goal.
