AUSTIN– The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's soccer team fell 0-2 to the Austin Bold FC, who is member of the United Soccer League, in its second match of the spring on Saturday at Bold Stadium.
UTRGV played well the first part of the match but allowed a couple of goals midway through the match. UTRGV could not convert on its opportunities throughout the match as the Bold used their vast experience to control the match.
Saturday's match could be a huge learning tool going forward.
"We played really well in the first 20 minutes," UTRGV head coach
Paul Leese said. "They then used their experience to control the game. We weren't as composed as we needed to be and missed some good opportunities to score. This is a good learning experience for our young guys."
UTRGV will be back in action on March 3 when they face off against the University of the Incarnate Word.
