Women's Tennis Set for First WAC Cluster of the Season

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) women's tennis team will have its first taste of Western Athletic Conference play in the first WAC Cluster of the season, hosted by Grand Canyon University, from Friday through Sunday at the GCU Tennis Facility.
 
UTRGV will face Chicago State on Friday at 10 a.m., New Mexico State on Saturday at 6 p.m., and Seattle U on Sunday at 11 a.m.
 
All-Time Series
  • UTRGV is 7-2 against Chicago State in a series that dates back to 2009.
  • UTRGV won last year's matchup 5-2 in Seattle.
  • UTRGV is 3-8 all-time against New Mexico State in a series that dates back to 2008.

  • In doubles, Marine Darzyan and Dominique Ibarra won on court one to win UTRGV's lone match.
  • Ibarra followed doubles with a 6-4, 6-1 against Arina Amaning on court one to account for UTRGV's only point.
