SEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 0-7 loss to Grand Canyon University (GCU) on Saturday at the Amy Yee Tennis Center, on the campus of Seattle University.
GCU (17-6, 5-0 WAC) came out and took control of the match early as it won doubles matches on courts one and three. UTRGV (4-19, 1-4 WAC) won on doubles court two as senior
Yehontan Kaufman and freshman
George Hutchings picked up the 6-3 victory over Valentin Lang, and Jakub Novak.
In singles, GCU swept through all six courts to clinch the win.
UTRGV will be back in action on April 26 in the opening round of the Western Athletic Conference Tennis Tournament that will be held at the Brownsville Tennis Center.
