Samariae Bonds shattered the program record for the shot put to win her flight and lead The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) outdoor track & field team during the final day of the NCAA West Preliminary Round on Saturday at Hornet Stadium.
Bonds uncorked a throw of 15.95 meters, good for 18
thout of 48 and just 0.27 meters short of qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Bonds' previous career-best in the shot put was 15.48 meters while the previous program record was 15.53 meters, set by sophomore
Alexandra Hurst earlier this year.

thwith a throw of 14.94 meters, her fourth-best of the season and the ninth-best in program history.

th with a throw of 13.83 meters.

Dai'ja Coleman finished 35
thin the triple jump with a distance of 12.19 meters, tied for the eighth-best mark in program history. Coleman finishes her career with seven of the top 10 triple jumps in program history.
