RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's tennis team is set to host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.  
 
Admission is free and fans are encouraged to attend. 
 
Last Time Out

• UTRGV (0-8) fell 3-4 to Incarnate Word on Sunday.
• UTRGV won its first doubles point of the season with wins from Katarina Sasaroga and Sandra Putz and from Valeria Montero and Kristyna Mamicova.
• Montero also recorded her first career win in singles by defeating Taylor Parkinson at the No. 5 spot. 
• Alicia Thal also added a win at No. 3 singles. 

 
All-Time Series Against Texas A&M-Kingsville

• UTRGV is 11-1 all-time against Texas A&M-Kingsville in a series that dates back to 1988. 
• UTRGV won last season's match 4-3 in Kingsville.
• UTRGV has won the last two matches with the only loss coming on February 19, 2017 in Kingsville. 
• Eight of the last 10 matches have been played at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.

 
Scouting Texas A&M-Kingsville

• Texas A&M-Kingsville is 1-1 this spring.
• Defeated Prairie View A&M 5-2 to open the spring.
• After being swept through doubles, the Javelinas won five of the six singles matches to clinch the win. 
• Vika Romanovskaia, Maya Donkor, Laura Montalvo, Valerie Ruiz, and Stephanie Baerman each won their singles matches.
• The win over Prairie View A&M was at home while the loss to Corpus Christi was on the road. 

 
WAC Doubles Team of the Week

• Sasaroga and Putz were named WAC Doubles Team of the Week with their win helping clinch UTRGV's first doubles point of the season. 
• It's the team's second doubles honor after Mamicova and Thal earned the honor back on January 28.
• This is Sasaroga and Putz's second award of the 2019-20 season as they also won WAC Doubles Team of the Month for the month of October.
