TULSA, Okla. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's soccer team fell 2-1 to the Oral Roberts University (ORU) Golden Eagles on Sunday at Case Soccer Complex. 
 
The Golden Eagles (1-1) got on the board early in the first half as Dante Brigida gave them the 1-0 lead in the 18^thminute. 
 
ORU added a goal in the second half to make it 2-0 as Vinicius Oliveira floated one from outside the box and over the outstretched hand of UTRGV goalie Trevor Schneider (0-2) in the 72^nd minute. 
 
The Golden Eagles limited the Vaqueros (0-2) to just six shots in the match with three of them coming on goal. One those shots on goal came from graduate student Yusuf Cueceoglu in the 75^th minute. Cueceoglu took a cross in the box from junior Jan Engels and got the Vaqueros on the board with his first goal of the season to make it 2-1. 
 
The Vaqueros put some pressure late in the match but were unable to get the equalizer. 
 
The Golden Eagles took 11 shots with just three on goal. Schneider finished the match with one save while Miles Motakef (1-1) made a pair of saves. 
 
The Vaqueros return to action on Friday when they hit the road to face University of Alabama at Birmingham at 7 p.m. as part of the Soccer for the Cure Tournament at BBVA Field.
