SAN ANTONIO – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis team dropped its final match of the weekend 0-7 to the University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA) Roadrunners on Sunday at the UTSA Tennis Center.
UTSA (2-1) gained the first edge when its No. 2 doubles team picked up a 6-1 win. UTRGV (1-4) evened things up with a 6-2 victory in the No. 1 spot by juniors

George Hutchings, who won both of their doubles matches Sunday.
UTSA clinched the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead with a 6-3 win in the No. 3 spot. The Roadrunners extended their lead to 3-0 by winning points in the No. 3 and No. 6 singles matches.
UTRGV continued to battle. Junior
Chris Lawrance came back from trailing 1-5 in the second set of his No. 5 match to make things tight at 4-5, but UTSA's Maxim Groysman held on for a 6-4, 6-4 win and secured the Roadrunners victory at 4-0.
Freshman
Sam Whitehead forced a third set with a come-from-behind 7-5 win in the second set of his No. 4 match. UTSA's Danijal Muminovic held on to pick up the point in the third.
The Vaqueros finished the weekend 1-2. Their next match is Wednesday at 12 p.m. at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the South Texas Showdown presented by Navy Army Community Credit Union.
