Brett Cain led the Vaqueros (22-15, 8-8 WAC) offensively by going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Over the last five games, Cain is hitting .700 (14-for-20) with five RBI and seven runs scored. Sophomore PSJA alum
Jacob Sanchez went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and a run scored. Graduate student
Cameron Blake finished 2-for-3 with two walks, an RBI, and a run scored.
The Vaqueros led 2-0 out of the gate on a Cain sacrifice fly and a Sanchez RBI-single in the first against
Tyler Morgan (4-2).
After the Wildcats (18-19, 7-9 WAC) scored four runs in the second on a
Grayson Tatrow two-run double and a
Tanner Tweedt two-run single, senior
Kevin Stevens (5-2) settled down to retire nine of the last 10 batters he faced. Stevens pitched 5.0 innings, striking out six.
The Vaqueros took the lead with four runs in the sixth. With runners at second and third and one out, a passed ball brought home Cain. Graduate student
Freddy Rojas Jr. followed with a two-run home run, his seventh, to give the Vaqueros the lead. One out later, freshman Vela alum
Isaac Lopez walked, stole second and scored on a Blake RBI-single.

Ricky Gerik Jr. took over from there, pitching 4.0 scoreless innings, striking out five, for his fifth save.
