RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2022-23 CSC Academic All-District Teams for men's and women's tennis Tuesday, and four student-athletes representing The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) were recognized.
To be eligible, student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or better and be a starter or significant reserve on their team, playing at least 50 percent of contests, with at least one year completed at the institution.
Graduate student
Te Kani Williams and sophomore
Sam Whitehead made the men's tennis Academic All-District team. Williams will be graduating this weekend with a master's in business administration after previously completing undergrad at UTRGV. Whitehead is studying business management and recorded 19 combined wins in singles and doubles play.
Senior
Stefanie Wilske and junior
Isabelle Bahr made the women's tennis Academic All-District team. Wilske studied psychology and recorded 15 combined wins this season. Bahr, a psychology student-athlete, tallied 28 combined wins and notched a 5-4 record in conference singles and doubles play.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second and third-team Academic All-America selections will be announced June 1.
