HAMMOND, La. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's tennis team completed its run at the Southland Conference (SLC) Fall Championship Thursday at the Southeastern Tennis Center in Hammond, Louisiana.
The doubles team of junior
Yaiza Vazquez and sophomore
Hitakamya Narwal dropped their opening-round match, 6-3, 6-3, to
Aada Inna/Paulina Villegas from Nicholls. In singles action, Vazquez played a tough three-set match against McNeese's
Salome Fluri but was defeated 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.
Though Vazquez and Narwal are done for the week, other members of the women's team will begin competing Friday in Huntsville at the Bearkat Invite.
