DALLAS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team is set to compete at the Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU, starting on Sunday at Trinity Forest Golf Course.
The 54-hole event will feature 18 holes on each day through Tuesday. Play will start on each day with a shotgun start at 8:25 a.m.
Trinity Forest Invitational play 7,617 and is a par 72.
The Competition
There will be a 15-team field that will feature UTRGV, host SMU, Furman, San Francisco, UTSA, Louisiana, UT Arlington, Rice, Louisiana Tech, Loyola Marymount, North Texas, North Carolina State, UNLV, Abilene Christian, and USC.

Last Time Out
The Vaqueros finished in sixth place at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic after finishing with a three-round score of 864. UTRGV posted two rounds under-par as they opened with a three-under 285, 293, and a two-under 286.
Esteban Gonzalez finished tied for 23
rd with a three-round score of 214 with rounds of 69, 76, and 69.
Juan Luis de Bethencourt Duque finished tied for 35
th with a three-round score of 217 after carding rounds of 69, 73, and 75.
Junior
Arthit Kruaprayong finished tied for 40
th with a three-round score of 219 after posting rounds of 74, 75, and 70. Junior Luis Limón finished tied for 49
th with a three-round score of 221 with rounds of 78, 71, and 72.
Taj Sutherland finished tied for 68
th with a three-round score of 228 after posting rounds of 73, 74, and 81.
Eddie Lai finished tied for 70
th with a three-round score of 229 with rounds of 72, 79, and 78.
Last Time at Trinity Forest Invitational
The Trinity Forest Invitational was not held last year.
Little Rock won the championship in 2022 after posting a three-round score of 833. SMU's Nathan Petronzio won the individual championship with a three-round score of 203.
Previous winners in SMU (2021), Arizona (2019), Baylor (2018), and Florida (2017). On the individual side winners include, SMU's Noah Goodwin (2021), SMU's Anton Albers (Spring 2021), Arizona State's Alex del Rey (2019), UNT's Thomas Rosenmueller (2018), and USC's Justin Suh (2017).
