RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team opens Southland Conference play Saturday with a 2 p.m. game against the Stephen F. Austin (SFA) Ladyjacks at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
The Vaqueros (3-5, 0-0 Southland Conference) and SFA (7-1, 0-0 Southland Conference) split the season series last year when they were both members of the Western Athletic Conference. UTRGV won the last meeting, 62-49, in Edinburg and will look to defend home court once again. Stephen F. Austin started the season 7-0 before dropping its first game Tuesday, 78-68, at Texas Tech.
Fans unable to attend the game can watch domestically on
ESPN+ and internationally on
Southland International. All fans must follow the clear bag and photo policies, among others, in place for the UTRGV Fieldhouse. More information can be found
