RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced on Monday that freshman Hebrew Hunter, of the men's track and field team, is the Killers Golf UTRGV Student-Athlete of the Week.
 
Hunter finished in ninth place in the triple jump at the 2024 USA Track & Field U20 Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. 
 
Hunter jumped 14.62 meters on his third attempt and narrowly missed advancing to finals, finishing one quarter of an inch outside of the top eight.
 
Hunter and fellow freshman and Weslaco East alum Gael Romo capped UTRGV's 2024 outdoor season at the U20 meet.
