RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced on Monday that forward
Daylen Williams and guard
Fadi Mougharbel are part of the NABC Honors Court after competing as part of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men's basketball team and earning a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.2 during the 2023-24 season.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior, senior, or graduate student and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year.
3. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with an NABC member coach.
The NABC Honors Court recognizes the talents and gifts that these men possess off the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom.

Williams graduated with a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies in the spring. Mougharbel, a communications studies major, is set to return to the team in 2024-25.
Williams also earned Academic All-WAC and College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors while Mougharbel earned Fall and Spring AD honor rolls.
