RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is looking forward to its latest opportunity to face a new Southland Conference (SLC) opponent as it hosts the McNeese Cowgirls at 2 p.m. Saturday at the UTRGV Fieldhouse.
The Vaqueros (9-10, 4-4 SLC) are welcoming McNeese (7-11, 2-5 SLC) to Edinburg for the first time since 2021. UTRGV has won two straight games against the Cowgirls and four of the last five in the head-to-head series.
The women's game will kick off a single-admission doubleheader with the men's basketball team, which hosts McNeese at 4:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at
GoUTRGV.com/Tickets. Current UTRGV students get into the game free with their student ID and can get free food in between games. Fans unable to attend the game can watch domestically via
ESPN+ or internationally via
Southland International.
The party starts in Schlotzsky's Vaquero Village at 1 p.m. All fans need to follow the clear bag policy and photo policies, among others, details of which can be found
here. Fans will need to be mindful of the temporary changes to the Fieldhouse parking, details can be found at
