BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis team is set to compete at the annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Texas Regional, hosted by Texas A&M, at the Mitchell Tennis Center.

The ITA Texas Regional runs from Friday through Tuesday. The Vaqueros are slated to battle players from Div. I programs across the state for a chance to advance to the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
 
UTRGV will open play Friday with the qualifying round of singles. Seven Vaqueros will begin their journey in the qualifying round. Junior Paolo Bonaguro and sophomores Michael Chan, Loic Young Kriegel, and Eduardo Menezes will begin in the Round of 64.
 
Meanwhile, sophomore Francisco Gomez and junior Ivo Isqueiro and Will Roberts will begin in the round of 32.
 
After qualifying for the main draw last year, graduate student Sam Whitehead will begin his run at ITA Texas Regional in the main draw this year. Additionally, junior Santiago Serrano will begin in the main draw.
 
In doubles action, UTRGV is sending five teams to the regional. Teaming up for the Vaqueros are Whitehead and Young, Isqueiro and Menezes, Bonaguro and Roberts, Chan and Serrano, and freshman Luke Bishop and Gamez. All doubles teams will begin in the main draw.
