NATCHITOCHES, La. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's tennis team will be competing at the second-annual Southland Conference (SLC) Fall Championships from Thursday to Saturday at Northwestern State's Jack Fisher Lady Demon Complex.
 
The doubles and singles champions from the SLC Fall Championships will receive an automatic bid to the 2025 ITA Conference Masters Championship, which is scheduled to run from Nov. 6-9 in San Diego. From there, four singles players and three doubles teams will qualify for their respective NCAA Championships.
 
Juniors Paolo Bonaguro and Will Roberts will represent UTRGV in the doubles draw. They will open with a first-round match against Arthur Oliani and Felipe Spagnuolo from Nicholls Thursday at 9 a.m.
 
Junior Santiago Serrano will represent the Vaqueros in the singles draw. He will open with a first-round match against Colin Tavares from Nicholls Thursday at 1 p.m. When these two met last season, Serrano led 7-6 (8-6), 2-0 before the match ended unfinished due to the Vaqueros 4-0 sweep of the Colonels.
 
The tournament follows a one-and-done format. If the Vaqueros win their first round matches Thursday, they'll move on to the semifinals on Friday.
