DELAND, Fla. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's soccer team played the Stetson University Hatters to a 1-1 draw on Tuesday at the Athletic Training Center.   
 
The Vaqueros (1-7-2) and the Hatters (4-7-2) did a good job of limiting each other's chances in the first half as UTRGV took just two shots on goal while Stetson took just one, even though they had nine corner kicks. 
 
Senior Alexis Gonzalez made a big save in the 25^th minute to keep the match scoreless. 
 
The scoring got going in the second half as junior Eduardo De Oliveira scored his fifth goal of the season in the 51^stminute of the match. Junior Mouhamed Pouye found Oliveira streaking in front of the box and sent him the pass as Oliveira made a move around the defender finding the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. 
 
The Hatters answered back quickly as they got a goal from Andres Mata in the 54^th minute to make it 1-1. 
 
Both defenses stood strong the final 36 minutes of the match with the Vaqueros taking two shots on goal, but Stetson goalkeeper Maxwell Bennett made a pair of saves to keep the match tied. 
 
UTRGV took advantage of their seven shots with five of them on goal. Stetson took nine shots with just two on goal and finished the match with 13 corner kicks to UTRGV's four.
