Men's Golf Finishes in 10th Place at Trinity Forest Invitational

DALLAS – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team wrapped up the Trinity Forest Invitational in 10^th place on Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Course.

The Vaqueros turned in a final round 291 to finish with a three-round score of 866. UTRGV finished one shot back of East Tennessee State for ninth and five shots behind North Texas for eighth place.

Sophomore Gabriel Dulon Villoslada led the Vaqueros with a tied for 24^th place finish as he finished with a three-round score of 213 after a final round one-under par 71.

Freshman Jorge Martin Sampedro also turned in a final round one-under par 71 to finish tied for 31^st with a three-round score of 215. Junior Esteban Gonzalez finished tied for 41^st with a three-round score of 218 after a final round 74.

Freshman Brock Porter finished tied for 67^th with a three-round score of 225 after posting a final round 75 and junior Rodolphe Cicala finished tied for 73^rd with a three-round score of 226 after a final round 76.

USC and Rice finished tied for first at the top of the team standings with a three-round score of 832. Rice's Lukas Boandl and Houston's Hudson Weibel finished tied for the individual lead with a three-round score of 201.

The Vaqueros will be back in action Oct. 24-25 when they compete at the Monterrey International Invitational in Monterrey, Mexico.
