RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is opening the 2025-26 season Monday with a 6:30 p.m. game against the St. Mary's Rattlers at the UTRGV Fieldhouse. 

The Vaqueros and Rattlers faced off in 2024 in Edinburg and UTRGV earned a 73-42 win. This will be the first contest at the UTRGV Fieldhouse with the brand-new atrium fully opened. The Monday Madness contest will feature a DJ for pregame and in-game festivities, party lights throughout the night, and glowsticks, presented by Vaquero Outfitters, that will be distributed to fans. Lights will be shutoff at various times during games to allow party lights and glowsticks to illuminate the gym.

Fans can purchase tickets online at UTRGVTickets.com. Students get in free with a valid student ID but will need to claim a ticket at GoUTRGV.com/StudentTickets. All fans need to follow the clear bag policy and photo policies, among others, details of which can be found here.
