COMMERCE, Texas – The Southland Conference announced on Sunday that The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) junior setter
Isabella Costantini and redshirt sophomore middle blocker and Harlingen High alum
Julianna Bryant were named to the SLC All-Tournament Team.
Costantini had #2 UTRGV hitting .269 through the tournament, including a .420 hitting percentage in the sweep of #6 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (AMCC) in the semifinal round. The two-time SLC Setter of the Year totaled 96 assists, averaging 10.67 assists per set, through the tournament and notched two double-doubles. She had 10 digs in the quarterfinals sweep of #7 Houston Christian University and 11 in the championship match against #1 Stephen F. Austin. Costantini served four aces and had eight kills throughout the three-day run.
Bryant totaled nine blocks and 19 kills while hitting .250 to help the Vaqueros reach the championship match. She powered UTRGV in the sweep of AMCC on Saturday, recording 11 kills on .714 hitting. The All-Conference Second Team honoree brought energy to the court and was a big presence on the net while recording exciting kills on slide attacks.
