The Vaqueros (14-13, 6-10 SLC) made five three-pointers to give them a season total of 280 three-pointers made surpassing the 276 three-pointers made in 2016-17.

Miller's driving layup helped build momentum to spark a 34-26 lead. The Cardinals responded with a 5-0 run keeping the pressure on the Vaqueros. Freshman guard Jaylen Washington got a steal and turned it into an assist for Thorn's layup to give UTRGV a 36-31 lead going into the half.

UIW came out of the locker room strong to close the gap 38-37 with a three-point play. UTRGV quickly responded with baskets from Davis and Thorn.
