RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is hosting the New Orleans (UNO) Privateers Saturday at 2 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse in the regular season finale.
The Vaqueros (16-14, 11-8 Southland Conference) defeated the Privateers (3-24, 3-15 SLC), 64-62, when these teams faced off in the first round of conference action in New Orleans. This is the first game between them in Edinburg since 2013. UTRGV is playing to secure its seeding ahead of the Southland Conference Championship which begins March 10 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
The women's game is part of a doubleheader including a men's basketball game between the same teams scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at
GoUTRGV.com/Tickets. Current UTRGV students get into the game free with their student ID. Fans unable to attend the game can watch domestically via
ESPN+ or internationally via
Southland International.
