HUMBLE – Junior Arthit Kruaprayong is tied for fourth place after the first day of the All-American Intercollegiate to lead The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team on Monday at the Golf Club of Houston.
 
Krauprayong opened with a four-under 68 as he recorded five birdies with 12 pars and only one bogey. He followed that with an even par 72 in the second round for a two-round total of 140 and is just five strokes off the lead held by Houston's Chi Chun Chen. 
 
Sophomore McAllen Memorial alum Esteban Gonzalez is tied for 13^th with a two-round total of 143 after turning in a first round one-under 71 before posting an even par 72. Junior Luis Limón is tied for 29^th with a two-round total of 146 as he posted a first round 75 and then improved with a one-under 71 in the second round. 
 
Redshirt senior Taj Sutherland is tied for 56^th with a two-round total of 151 after posting an even par 72 in the first round with a second round 79. Sophomore Emilio Gil Leyva is tied for 69^th with a two-round total of 155 with an even par 72 in the first round and an 83 in the second. 
 
Senior Juan Luis de Bethencourt Duque is tied for 26^th in the individual tournament with a two-round total of 153 after posting rounds of 76 and 77. Senior Carlos Roldos, who is also competing in the individual tournament, is tied for 34^thwith a two-round total of 158 with rounds of 76 and 77. 
 
As a team, UTRGV is in sixth place with a two-round total of 577 with a first round five-under 283 before posting a second round 294. Houston holds the first day lead with a two-round total of 555 with rounds of 276 and 279. 
 
The Vaqueros will be back on the course for the final round on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
