RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's basketball team is hosting the reigning regular season Southland Conference (SLC) champion Southeastern (SLU) Lions Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the UTRGV Fieldhouse on Support Women's Sports night, presented by HEB.
The Vaqueros (8-8, 5-2 SLC) have won three in a row and four of their last five heading into Thursday's game. They're off to their best conference start since 2015-16. The Lions (2-12, 1-6 SLC) are basically a completely new team, and coaching staff, from last season's championship run. They have lost nine in a row as they head to Edinburg.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free Support Women's Sports shirt. Fans can purchase tickets at
UTRGVTickets.com. Current UTRGV students receive free general admission with their student ID but will need to claim a ticket at
GoUTRGV.com/StudentTickets. Fans can learn more about game day, including parking information, maps, and the clear bag policy by visiting
