EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros track & field freshman
JaDan Keiler ran a season best in the men's 400-meter hurdles first round Thursday at Hayward Field during the USA Track & Field U20 Championships.
Keiler finished 13
th in 52.29, improving his season-best time of 52.44, which qualified him for the elite meet. Keiler narrowly missed qualifying for the finals of the 400 hurdles with a top-9 finish. The freshman defeated competitors representing schools including Virginia, Houston, Marquette, NC State, and Princeton.
Keiler will compete again Friday at 6:28 p.m. in the first round of the men's 110-meter hurdles. Fellow freshmen
Antwoine Warren and
Dior Williams will also be in action in Eugene on Friday. Warren will participate in the men's high jump starting at 6 p.m. and Williams will run in the first round of the women's 100-meter hurdles at 6:18 p.m. Finals will follow for both short hurdles if Williams and/or Keiler finish in the top 9 in the first round races.
