EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros track & field freshman
Dior Williams earned a fifth-place finish in the women's 100-meter hurdles Friday at the USA Track & Field U20 Championships held at Hayward Field.
Williams finished fourth in the first of two heats in a time of 13.57, which was fast enough to secure a spot in the final. The top three finishers in each heat plus the next three best times moved on from the preliminary round. In the final, Williams improved her time to 13.51 to secure the top-5 finish on the national stage. Williams, the reigning Southland Conference outdoor silver medalist in the 100 hurdles, ran sub-13.6 eight times this season, including twice in Eugene.
Freshmen
Antwoine Warren and
JaDan Keiler also competed Friday in men's high jump and the men's 110-meter hurdles, respectively, but Warren did not clear his opening height and Keiler was disqualified.
