RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team is set to host the Texas Southern (TSU) Tigers in the season opener on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and will visit the Texas State Bobcats on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
 
Texas Southern – August 13, 6:30 p.m. – UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex – Edinburg, Texas
 
This is the eighth time UTRGV and TSU off against each other, the Vaqueros have a 3-2-2 record all time against the Tigers.
 
Last year the Vaqueros ended with a 3-3 draw on the road against the Tigers.
 
All matches held at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field complex will be free and open to the public. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Texas State – August 16, 7:30 p.m. – Bobcat Soccer Complex – San Marcos, Texas
 
Last season the Bobcats (10-4-7) won the Sun Belt conference tournament. This is the first season in the PAC-12 for Texas State.
 
This is the first time the Vaqueros face Texas State in program history. UTRGV will be the first opponent Texas State hosts as a member of the PAC-12 Conference.
