RIO GRANDE VALLEY – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros women's soccer team hits the road for the second time this season as they face the Tarleton Texans (TSU) on Thursday at 7 p.m. and will host the Texas A&M International (TAMIU) Dustdevils on Sunday at 11 a.m.

UTRGV earned the first win of the season versus the Prairie View A&M (PVAM) Panthers (1-0-1) at home 4-0, at UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex, Thursday, Aug. 20.
 
Junior Isabella Burtini led the way with a career-high two goals and career-high tying one assist on her way to a career-high five total points. Also scoring for the Vaqueros was junior Sienna Gillespie, knocking in her first NCAA DI goal with sophomore Amy Romero notching her first career assist. The final goal of the match was scored by junior Erika Parker, the first of her career.
 
Burtini earned Southland Conference (SLC) Offensive Player of the Week.
 
Tarleton Texans – August 27, 7 p.m. - Tarleton State Soccer Complex – Stephenville, Texas
 
The Vaqueros will host the Tarleton Texans (0-1-2) Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Soccer and Track & Field Complex. This is the fifth time UTRGV and Tarleton face off against each other.
 
The Texans went 7-7-6, (1-5-4 WAC) and the Vaqueros dropped its season opener 1-0 to the Texans last year.
 
UTRGV is (0-3-1) all-time against Tarleton, the Vaqueros are looking to get their first win against the Texans. This will be the first time that UTRGV travels to Stephensville since its 1-1 draw in 2024.

Texas A&M International – August 30, 11 a.m. - UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex – Edinburg, Texas
 
The Vaqueros will host Texas A&M International (0-0) Sunday at 11 a.m. at the UTRGV Soccer and Track & Field Complex.
 
UTRGV is (1-1-1) all-time against TAMIU, the last time these two faced off was a 1-0 loss at home in 2022. This was the only goal UTRGV has ever given up to the Dustdevils.
 
TAMIU went 4-9-4, (3-8-3 LSC) in the 2025 season last year.
