Men’s Golf Ready for Bayou City Collegiate

HOUSTON – The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) Vaqueros men's golf team is set to return to the course Monday and Tuesday for the Bayou City Collegiate, hosted by Rice, at Westwood Golf Club.

Tournament Format

The tournament will be played from Monday to Tuesday.
Monday will have 36 holes of play while Tuesday will feature the final 18 holes.
Play will begin each day with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Golf Course Info

Westwood Golf Club plays 7,184 yards.
- The front nine is 3,568 yards and the back nine is 3,616 yards.
The par for the course is 72.

The Starting Lineup

Last Time Out

The Vaqueros set a program record for the lowest 54-hole team score with an 835 (274-279-283) at the JT Poston Invitational, breaking the previous record of 839 set at the 1990 UTPA Golf Classic.
Dulon Villoslada led the charge for the Vaqueros, setting the program record for lowest 54-hole individual score of 202 (67-65-70) en route to a third-place finish in the 100-person field. It was the first top-three finish of his career.
Gonzalez and Porter posted record book entries for lowest 54-hole individual score ending with a 209 (66-72-71) and 210 (73-68-69), respectively. This put Gonzalez in 19^th and Porter in a tie for 20^th in UTRGV history.

Making Their Debut

Sandrini is making his UTRGV debut this week. The Central Arkansas transfer helped the Bears reach NCAA Regionals in 2024 after claiming the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Conference Championship. In his sophomore season, he finished 10^th at the ASUN Championships and was ranked as the 722^nd men's golfer in NCAA Div. I.
