2009 Season [Sophomore]
In his second season with the Broncs, Mendoza appeared in 55 games for the Broncs while posting a .348 batting average...collected 44 runs, 71 hits, and 28 RBI...posted a 3-for-5 plate appearance against Northern Colorado (5/11), to go along with four runs, and three RBI...tripled twice against Northern Colorado (5/12) with a 3-for-6 plate appearance, three runs, and one RBI...finished 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI against UTSA (4/21)...went 2-for-2 in game one in a doubleheader with SFA (4/15) and drove in two batters and crossed the plate twice, along with posting a double...finished 3-for-6 with a run and an RBI against UT-Brownsville (4/8)...against Houston (4/5), Mendoza finished 2-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base...ranked 27th amongst all NCAA Division I baseball players as toughest to strikeout with 13 strikeouts in 204 at-bats...named Great West Conference Player of the Week during opening week.
2008 Season [Freshman]
As a freshman, Mendoza batted .321 in 56 games played...of the 56 games played, earned a spot on the starting lineup on 55 occasions...ranked second amongst the squad in at-bats for the season...collected 32 runs, 68 hits, 10 doubles, two triples and two homeruns while driving in 35 runs in 56 appearances...was successful in all 11 attempts on stealing base...posted a .415 slugging percentage with a .415 on-base percentage and a .952 fielding percentage...Mendoza made his debut with the Broncs in the first game of the season against TAMUCC (Feb. 23) and went 2-for-4 with one run and a stole base...recorded a career-high six at-bats against Jackson State (Mar. 1) in game two of the double-header and four hits...tripled against New Mexico State (Mar. 29) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Apr. 26)...recorded one of his homeruns against Texas Southern (Apr. 11) and the other against Northern Colorado (May 4)...notched two doubles against Prairie View A&M in the second game of the scheduled double-header (Apr. 19).
Foy H. Moody High School
A product of Moody High School, Mendoza earned district 30-4A MVP and team MVP honors... collected first team all-metro, All-South Texas and all-state accolades... earned first team all-state tournament team honors... selected to the Texas 4A All-Stars South team... finished his prep career with a .485 batting average with 20 steals, 48 runs to go along with 36 RBI[apos]s and two home runs ... led his team to a 39-3 overall record and a 2007 4A state championship.

Mendoza is the son of Jose and Molly Mendoza...has one sister - Margie...born on September 20, 1988...majoring in Kinesiology.
