EL PASO CC: Running for El Paso Community College, Martinez opened the season with personal best of 19:13.0 for 5000 meters at the Lori Fitzgerald Invitational in El Paso. She finished 12th at the Region V Western Junior College Athletic Conference Championships, helping her team to a second place finish. At the National Junior College Athletic Association Championships, Martinez finished 27th in 20:31.8, despite a leg injury.

PREP: Martinez won district titles in both track and cross-country. For her efforts at Eastwood High School Martinez earned four MVP awards - three in cross-country and another in track with personal bests of 2:19.3 for 800 meters, and 5:20.7 for 1600 meters.
