In singles, went 11-7 ... picked up his first win of the season against Prairie View A&M's Ronald Chidzikwe (6-1, 6-1) ... defeated Marcelo Alecio of Bethany College in straight sets (6-3, 3-2) ... defeated Marcin Marczewski (7-5, 7-6) ... defeated #45 Portland's Stefan Micov in three sets (7-5, 5-7, 14-12) ... won five straight matches defeating Ricardo Campos (University of New Orleans), Damjan Despotovski (Nicholls State), Ronald Chidikuve (Prairie View A&M), Cristian Hodel (UMBC), and Jair Assuncao Neto (Laredo Community College) all in straight sets ... In doubles, partnered with Chetan Panditi and went 10-6 ... defeated the team of Ronald Chidzikwe and Karim Fotso 8-0 for their first doubles victory of the season ... defeated #45 Portland's team of Michel Hu Kwo and Alex Ferrero 9-7 ... won four straight matches against the #1 doubles team of Nicholls State, Prairie View A&M, UMBC and Laredo Community College ... closed out the season with a 9-7 victory over Marton Horvath and Rob Lee of Lamar University.
2010-11 Season • Junior
Played doubles with Aswin Vijayaragavan, compiled a 10-2 record ... both losses were against nationally ranked teams, TCU and Texas A&M ... the pairing was recognized First Team All-Southland Conference for the number one spot in doubles ... in singles, Bernstein won six of his nine last matches, starting with a victory 6-2, 6-0 over Shayann Vaezzadeh of Nicholls State, before moving on to defeat Lamar’s Robert Lee 4-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 ... went on to a three-game winning streak against Bruno Klinskinic (Laredo Community College), James Lankford (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi), and Lucas Leppen (UT-Arlington) ... won all three matches in two sets ... played a close match against Junior Ore from #6 Texas A&M, that he lost 5-7, 6-3, 11-13, and fell to UTSA’s Tyler Brown, also in three sets, before closing the season with a 6-1, 6-0 win over St. Mary’s Guy Rotten ... made the All-Southland Conference First Team.
2009-10 Season • Sophomore
Got his first singles victory against SMU’s Bryan Griffin in a two set sweep (6-4, 6-0) ... finished his junior season 11-9 at the No. 3 position ... picked up victories over Western New Mexico, DePaul, St. Mary’s, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Nicholls State, Xavier, Lamar, and UT-Arlington ... in doubles, paired up with his brother, Brett, and posted a 15-4 record ... defeated TCU’s Paul Chappell and Marius Cirstea 8-6 for their first victory of the season ... posted a seven-match winning streak en route to winning 11 of their final 12 matches.
2008-09 Season • Freshman
Found his rhythm in singles after capturing a victory over Idaho University’s Timothy Huynh in a third set super tiebreaker with a score of 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 ... saw most of his action at the No. 5 position, although he started and ended the season at No. 4 ... went on a five-match win streak with victories over Idaho, Nicholls State, SMU, UTSA, and Southeastern Louisiana ... captured quick victories over Nicholls State’s Sami Mouline (6-4, 6-0), SMU’s Adham El-Effendi (6-2, 6-1), and Southeastern Louisiana’s Guillaume Capovin (6-3, 6-2) ... beat Montana State’s Alberto Fuentes 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 for first collegiate win ... captured his first doubles win against Idaho’s Stanislav Glukhov and Alan Shin by a score of 9-8 ... captured three conference doubles wins with victories over Nicholls State, Southeastern Louisiana, and Lamar ... saw most of his action at No. 2, while playing in the third slot on four occasions ... First Team All-Southland Conference selection.
