2018-21 (Harlingen High School): As a senior, earned district MVP, 6A All-State Second Team Defensive Lineman, All-District Second Team Long Snapper, RGVCA All-Star and Blue-Grey All-American Bowl honors while leading team to bi-district championship … Finished senior season with 26 solo tackles, 24 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, and five pass deflections in 12 games for head coach Manny Gomez … Served as two-year captain … Led team to back-to-back undefeated district championships as a sophomore and junior … As a junior, earned District Defensive Player of the Year and All-State Third Team Defensive Lineman honors … As a sophomore, named District Newcomer of the Year … Also competed in track & field, setting a school record with a discus throw of 178-9, the top mark in Texas, and water polo … Member of national honor society.
