2009 Season [Sophomore]
Perez appeared at the shortstop position in 47 contests, while earning a .299 batting average...Perez concluded opening weekend with a 2-for-4 plate appearance, three RBI, and a double against Texas Tech (2/22)...finished 3-for-4 against A&M-Corpus Christi (3/8) along with two RBI, a run, a double, and a stolen base...drove in three batters against Prairie View A&M (3/22)...finished a perfect 3-for-3 against Texas Southern (4/18), while driving in three batters and scoring three of his own, to go along with two doubles...in the seasons second match up against UT-Brownsville (4/22), Perez finished 3-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and a double...tied his career-high four at-bats against Northern Colorado (5/11) and finished 3-for-6 with three runs and an RBI.
2008 Season [Freshman]
In his first season donning the Bronc green and orange, Perez collected a .286 batting average...ranked fifth amongst the squad in runs scored with 33 and runs-batted-in with 32 and sixth in hits with 56...tied for seventh on the team in doubles with seven...collected six homeruns and three triples...appeared in 55 of 56 games played while starting all 55 at the shortstop position...in 55 games played, appeared at the plate on 196 occasions...Perez posted 163 assists for the season to put him at eighth in the record books in the single-season records...posted a .434 slugging percentage, a .321 on-base percentage and a .954 fielding percentage...recorded a career-high six at-bats on three occasions...collected two of his seven doubles against New Orleans (Apr. 5)...grabbed a triple against New Mexico State (Mar. 29) and the other against TAMUCC (Apr. 8)...against Texas Southern (Apr. 11), Perez went 2-for-5 with three runs-batted-in and one run...the following contest against Texas Southern (Apr. 12), Perez improved to 3-for-6 and three runs...in a rescheduled game against Prairie View A&M, the shortstop was 2-for-4 with one run-batted-in and three runs for an 11-5 victory...in the first game of the three-game series against Northern Colorado, the newcomer went 1-for-3 with two RBI[apos]s and four runs.

Perez finished his prep career with a .365 batting average...led his team in doubles... earned defensive player of the year accolades...was part of a team that was state champions in 2004 and 2007... collected all-district, all-metro, all-state and All-South Texas honors... earned three letters in baseball.
