Shane Venteicher joined the UTRGV Athletics Department in the spring of 2022. He was promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in Sept. 2023 and Director of Football Medicine in April 2024. Before taking over football, Venteicher oversaw men’s soccer, track & field, and cross country.
Prior to joining UTRGV, Venteicher spent six years as the sports medicine director and an adjunct professor at Allen Community College. While at Allen Community College, Venteicher covered men’s and women’s soccer, baseball, softball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s track & field/cross country, and cheer and dance.
Prior to his time at Allen Community College, Venteicher spent a year at Missouri Southern State where he was an assistant athletic trainer for the football program.
Venteicher, who was raised in Glidden, Iowa, earned his Bachelor’s in Athletic Training in 2016 from Simpson College where he was a three-year letter winner on the football program while being a primary starter for two years.
Venteicher earned his Master’s in Exercise Science in 2019 from Liberty University.
