Adam Howard

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) head men’s basketball coach Kahil Fennell announced on May 7 the hiring of Adam Howard, who spent the last six years at Indiana, as the director of basketball operations.

Howard worked his way up through the Hoosiers program by spending four seasons as a student manager (2018-22) and two as a graduate manager (2022-24) before being promoted to assistant director of recruiting and operations prior to the start of the 2024-25 season.

While a graduate manager, Howard aided in scouting, video, player development, and recruiting and was named to the 2024 50 Nxt Up-Men’s Support Staff list by Silver Waves Media.

Howard was part of the staff that helped Indiana reach the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament and saw a pair of Hoosiers drafted in the 2023 NBA Draft in Jalen Hood-Schifino (Philadelphia 76ers) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (Golden State Warriors).

He also aided in hosting a pair of NBA Pro Days at which all 30 NBA teams attended.

Prior to becoming a graduate manager, Howard was the head student manager in 2021-22 and was named the National Student Manager of the Year at the 2022 NCAA Final Four in New Orleans by the Grow the Game manager community.

Howard attended Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School in Indianapolis, where he played for his father, Todd Howard. Adam Howard earned a Bachelor of Science in Sport Marketing and Management at Indiana in 2022 before completing his Master of Science in Kinesiology in Athletic Administration and Sports Management in the spring of 2024.
