Chris Lowe

Chris Lowe, who spent the previous two seasons as a graduate student manager with the Saint Louis men’s basketball team, joined UTRGV men's basketball as a special assistant to the head coach prior to the 2020-21 season.

Lowe’s responsibilities include creating video edits of player personnel and plays of opposing teams, creating recruiting materials, setting up official and unofficial visits, assisting with social media, and facilitating community engagement.

During Lowe’s two seasons with Saint Louis, the Billikens went a combined 46-21 (22-14 Atlantic 10), winning the A-10 Tournament Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament in 2019.

Lowe starred at UMass from 2005-09, graduating as the school-record holder in career assists with 678, which still ranks sixth all time in A-10 history.

A dynamic and exciting point guard at UMass, Lowe was featured on ESPN SportsCenter's Top Plays four different times during his career. He finished his career with more than 1,000 points and 600 assists, the first Minuteman to accomplish the feat. Lowe was also the sixth player in school history to register a triple-double when he went for 14 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds against La Salle as a junior.

Following graduation, Lowe played professionally for eight seasons, starting in the NBA G-League in 2009-10 and then going on to play in Lithuania, Slovakia and Austria.

In July 2015, he created the Clowe14 Skills and Drills Foundation in his hometown of Mount Vernon, New York. He uses his foundation to provide athletic, academic and scholarship opportunities to children in Mount Vernon and surrounding communities.

Lowe graduated from UMass in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and from Saint Louis in May with a Master of Arts in Leadership and Organizational Development.
