Antwon Hicks, the husband of head coach Shareese Hicks, joined the team as a volunteer assistant in the fall of 2021.
Antwon Hicks previously serves as a volunteer assistant at Memphis, where Shareese Hicks was an assistant coach from 2019-21.
Antwon Hicks had a storied track & field career, becoming the first American to win the gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles in the 2002 World Junior Championships. A 15-time state high school champion and the 1999 American Junior Champion in the high jump, Hicks went on to compete at Ole Miss from 2002-04, winning two NCAA Indoor Championships in the 60-meter hurdles. During outdoor competition, Hicks ranked fifth in the NCAA in the 110-meter hurdles as a freshman.
Hicks went on to become a semifinalist in the 110-meter hurdles at the 2004 US Olympic Trials before placing sixth at the 2005 USA Outdoor Championships.
Hicks won the 2009 Golden League Championship in the 110-meter hurdles and then won the Nigerian National Championship in the same event in 2016.
Hicks and his wife, Shareese, have one daughter, Semira.
