Britney Jordan is in her third season as an Assistant Coach at The University of Texas–Pan American. Jordan serves as the Recruiting Coordinator of the staff and has had a vital role in the growth of the Bronc Basketball program. Her primary responsibilities include assisting with the daily activities of the program, the development of guard players, and coordinating pre and post-season workouts. Off the court, Jordan has worked diligently as the academic liaison to coordinate weekly study hall hours and tutors for student-athletes.
Since Jordan’s arrival, UTPA has seen numerous players, who she recruited and/or developed, receive post-season accolades. Current junior guard Bianca Torre was named the Great West Conference Newcomer of the Year during the 2009-10 season and was also a member of the Great West Conference Second Team. During her sophomore campaign, she was named to the Great West Conference First Team. Current senior guard Ce’Monay Newell was named to the All Newcomer Team during the 2010-11 season.
In addition, current senior guard Erin Lewis finished the 2010-11 season 7th in the NCAA in assists while earning Great West Honorable Mention. Current senior guard/forward Donna Jackson was also named to the Great West Honorable Mention team for the 2010-11 season.
Jordan arrived at UTPA after a successful playing career at Texas A&M Commerce in which she led the NCAA in scoring with an average of 31.3 points per game during the 2008-09 season. Her successful senior season saw her receive multiple honors including Daktronics 1st Team All-American and Lone Star Conference North Division Player of the Year. Following her collegiate career, Jordan was a third round draft pick for the Los Angeles Sparks.
During her prep career, Jordan was honored as a McDonald’s High School All-American in addition to being named a WBCA High School All-American.
Jordan received her Bachelor of Science in Sociology with a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M Commerce in 2009.
