"We look forward to continued improvement and success in our women's golf program under Barb," said Athletic Director Gary Gallup. "She has excellent golf and academic credentials and is a good fund-raiser. Her contacts in the state and in the Valley will help enhance the program". Gallup added.

Einecker replaces Cindi Padgett who spent three seasons with the Lady Broncs and was one of the founding members of UT Pan American's women's golf program.

"I am very excited about the program here, we have an excellent group of athletes that have a lot of desire to learn and the motivation to improve their game," said Einecker.

Einecker is actively involved in working with the Professional Golf Association and has attended a USGA Workshop on the Rules of Golf. In addition, she has played an instrumental role as member of several tournament committees including the National Kidney Foundation- Cadillac Invitational and the Texas Two Step Invitational.

This season Einecker is also expected to play a key role in the organization and administration of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

"I am looking forward to hosting the Sun Belt Conference Championship Tournament on April 14-16, 1997. I think it is going be a very positive experience not only for the players but for the university community as well. One of the areas I feel confident in is my experience in organizing, administrating, and promoting golf tournaments."

Einecker's positive attitude and dedication will continue to provide a solid foundation to the Lady Bronc golf program. "I believe that hard work and practice are the keys to success for the team. The players will be more confident and comfortable in a tournament if they trust themselves once they are on the course. This trust must be built up during practice. It is essential to work on all aspects of the gam on a daily basis and dedicate extra time to any weaker part of the game. I believe that the hard work and dedication to practice will be rewarded when the team is competitive."

Before coming to UT Pan American, Einecker was the Principal of Grace Episcopal School and was an elementary school teacher at St. Matthew's in Edinburg. She received her Bachelor's Degree from James Madison University and was on the Dean's List for four years.

Einecker instantly developed a love for game of golf after being encouraged to play by her husband Don. "My number one supporter is my husband, Don. He is the driving force that keeps me striving to be better tomorrow than I am today. He keeps the mediocrity out of my golf game."

Einecker fined turned her golf skills with by working with local golf Pro Mike Fernuik. Fernuik not only helped her develop and strengthen her golf game, he also taught her to analyze all aspects of the game. Einecker often uses this knowledge when working with her team.

Einecker and her husband currently reside in McAllen.
