Rob Hansen

Rob Hansen joined the program as an assistant coach focusing on distance and middle-distance running on Aug. 26, 2013.

Hansen spent the 2012-13 season at Arkansas, helping the Razorbacks to an 18th place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, a fourth place finish at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, and an eighth place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The indoor team also won the SEC Championship. Hansen gained valuable experience observing and working with multiple All-SEC, All-American, USA Qualifiers and World Team Qualifiers. His responsibilities included assisting with recruiting and practice administration.
 
Hansen was an assistant coach at the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2011-12 and at McNeese State the previous season. He assisted the head cross country coach with practice and recruiting at Louisiana at Monroe. At McNeese State, Hansen coached the 400-meter hurdles, 800-meter run, 1,500-meter run and mile run event group. He also served as the home meet coordinator.
 
Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Hansen was the head track & field and cross country coach at Burlington Catholic Central High School from 2006-10. His team took second place at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association State Meet in 2010 while the 4x400-meter relay team set a state meet record.
 
Hansen was a distance runner at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside from 2004-09, competing in both cross country and track & field and earning All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors in the 800-meter run. He graduated with a bachelor’s in history. Hansen earned his master’s in exercise science at Louisiana at Monroe in 2012.
