BOWLING GREEN, Ky - South Alabama scored three goals in overtime to frustrate Texas-Pan American's soccer team, 4-1, in the Sun Belt Conference Championship on a muddy field Thursday night.
USA led at halftime, 1-0,
Jesus Leon tied it for UTPA three minutes into the second half. Daniel Ausuca's assist set up the goal in a wild scramble around the penalty area.
The UTPA Broncs ended their season at 2-10.

Albert Flores had four brilliant saves and the UTPA Bronc defense kept heavily favored USA tied at 1-1 until overtime.
Craig Bell scored two goals for South Alabama. Shaun Rothuysen, the Sun Belt's Co-Player of the Year, scored the winner in the first overtime. USA's Jaguars added two insurance goals in the second overtime period.
South Alabama (13-7) advances to the semifinals Friday against top-seeded Jacksonville (11-5). Second-seeded Western Kentucky (11-7) plays the other semifinal against Vanderbilt (8-7-2) which eliminated Arkansas-Little Rock Thursday, 2-1.
