TCU Tries to Keep Dominating Bronc Soccer Team

FORT WORTH - Texas Christian University, which never has lost to Texas-Pan American in soccer, shoots for its sixth victory over the South Texas team at 1 p.m. Sunday.

TCU is off to a 3-1 start. The Horned Frogs swept LeTourneau, 3-1; Mary Hardin-Baylor, 3-0; and Schreiner, 4-0, before losing at Southwest Missouri State, 6-1, on Thursday night.

UTPA stands 2-2 overall but won two exhibition games so is officially 0-2. The Broncs lost at the University of Kentucky, 4-1, then fell to Missouri-Kansas City, also by 4-1, on Kentucky's field.

Alfredo (Fred) Flores, UTPA defender from Corpus Christi, was lost for the season when he suffered a broken leg against Kentucky. The Broncs also lost Juan Zambrano, defender from San Juan, Tex., with another leg injury on their Kentucky trip.

Next home game for the UTPA Broncs will be Sept. 26 against Oral Roberts. UTPA plays two games in California Sept. 20 and 21.
