Evanston, IL - The Northwestern University Wildcats (7-11) went on a 24-4 run during the second half to come from behind and beat the University of Texas Pan-American Broncs men's basketball team (14-11) 68-59 today at Welsh-Ryan Arena. It snaps the Broncs seven game winning streak.

The Wildcats shot 53.3 percent for the game, but 61.5 percent in the second half to key the comeback.

With 3:30 remaining, senior guard Brian Burrell (Nacagdoches, TX) hit a three-pointer to start a 5-0 Broncs run, but it wasn't enough.

Burrell finished with a team-high 21 points on 8-18 shooting (5-13 from behind the arc).

The game had a ping-pong feel in the opening five minutes as every score resulted in a lead change.

With 1:42 left in the first half, senior guard Dexter Shankle (Katy, TX). After a battle for the rebound, the Wildcats got a 2-0 break to the basket. A pass to Jeremy Nash seemed to guarantee an uncontested lay-up, but Shankle came flying out of nowhere to reject the shot to preserve the six-point lead (24-18) with 1:33 reamining.

Senior guard Paul Stoll (Lansing, MI) finished with 16 points and six assists.

The Broncs return home on Saturday, February 2nd at 6:05 p.m. against Chicago State (8-15).
