The Lady Broncs took to the courts Saturday afternoon after three weeks of not competing. The long gap between their previous match and today seem obvious as they fell to the Sam Houston State 6-1.

"After three weeks without any matches we didn't come out to compete hard in any matches today," graduate assistant Oliver Steil said.

In the first spot of singles action Stephanie Willerding suffered a 6-2, 6-0 setback to Irina Sotnikova and in the second spot Luisa Cantu lost to Giorgia Pozzan 6-1, 6-0. The third spot Andrea Salvetova suffered a loss to Peta Taylor 6-0, 6-3. The fourth spot of the match captain Megan Bedeau lost to Patricia Manzur 6-1, 6-1 and in the fifth spot Malin Anderson defeated Eleonara Kuruc 7-5, 6-0. Sarah Burton lost 6-4, 2-6, 9-11 to Stasa Vujosevic in a super tie breaker of the six spot.

In doubles action Willerding and Salvetova suffered an 8-0 setback to Sotnikova and Taylor while the paring of Bedeau and Cantu defeated Pozzan and Vujosevic 9-7. Anderson and Burton suffered an 8-6 defeat at the hands of Manzur and Kuruc.

"We should have won the doubles point but individual let down cost us the point and the momentum to take into singles play," Steil said.

The Lady Broncs are back in action on March 26 against Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.

"We will go back and practice hard to get the team mentally and physically ready for the next road trip next week," Steil said. "At this point the record doesn't really matter. We will cherish any win we can get at this point."
