The University of Texas-Pan American women's tennis program suffered back-to-back 4-0 losses to the SMU Lady Mustangs and the SFA Lady `Jacks this Friday (Jan. 22) evening at the Turpin Tennis Center in Dallas, Texas.

SMU 4, UTPA 0
The women started off with doubles play as Megan Bedeau and Luisa Cantu faced Marta Lesniak and Aleksandra Malyarchikova in No. 1 doubles. The Lady Mustangs captured a quick 8-0 win.

SMU's Sophie Quist and Pavi Francis faced Nina Ciric and Sarah Burton and captured an 8-2 win over the Lady Broncs for the doubles point.

Only three Lady Broncs managed to complete their matches as Megan Bedeau dropped a 6-2, 6-1 decision, in No. 1 singles, to Marta Lesniak. In No. 2 singles, senior Luisa Cantu faced Malyarchikova and suffered a 6-0, 6-2 loss.

In No. 4 singles, Sarah Burton faced Shahzoda Hatamova and faced a 6-2, 6-1 setback. Incomplete matches for UTPA came in No. 3 singles with Nina Ciric and No. 5 Andrea Salvetova.

SFA 4, UTPA 0
The Lady Broncs attempted to improve their 0-1 record for the season, but were unable to as they suffered another 4-0 loss to Stephen F. Austin this evening at the Turpin Tennis Center.

With the same lineup from earlier in the evening, the Lady Broncs put up a fight in No. 1 and No. 2 doubles as Megan Bedeau and Luisa Cantu dropped an 8-4 decision and Sarah Burton and Nina Ciric an 8-5 decision, respectively.

In singles play, only No. 1 and 2 singles were completed as Bedeau dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision and Cantu a 6-3, 6-4 decision to Roxana Enica and Alina Shazhko respectively.

In the remaining three slots, the Lady Broncs led in 2-of-3 matches as Nina Ciric led 6-3, 2-6, 2-1 in No. 3 singles versus Paola Muntuenga. In No. 5 singles, Andrea Salvetova was on fire as she led 7-6(3), 2-0 against Meaghan Ocanas.

Number four singles was the only slot in which SFA led with Tatiana Smolnikova leading 6-2, 4-3 over Sarah Burton.

Next up for the Lady Broncs is a match up with Stephen F. Austin on Jan. 29 with match-time set for 2:00 p.m.
