The two teams remained close throughout most of the third set. UTPA was able to earn a 3-point advantage, 8-5 over the Fighting Sioux. UND came back to tie the game several times, but did not move ahead of the Broncs until 14-13 when Joki tallied a kill. UND errors and a kill from Rita Gonzalez put UTPA back on top 18-15. However, the Sioux stole the 20-19 lead as Smed chipped in two more kills and led UND to a match win 25-20.
