FLAGSTAFF, Arizona - The University of Texas-Pan American men's basketball team begins a four game road trip on Wednesday night as the Broncs (3-6) face the Northern Arizona University Lumberjacks (6-2) at the Rolle Activity Center on the NAU campus. Tip-off for the game is scheduled for 7:35 PM CT.

The Broncs are looking for their second straight win after knocking off Victory University last Sunday at the UTPA Fieldhouse 101-94. Sophomore forward, and first-year Bronc, Ruben Cabrera's three-point play with 1:06 remaining in regulation gave the Broncs a late lead that led to the thrilling comeback win over VU.

Cabrera had his best game as a Bronc scoring 21 points, a career-high in just 20 minutes of action. Perry Petty led the Broncs with his first double-double of the season with 24 points and 10 rebounds, both team highs in Sunday's win. Aaron Urbanus equaled his season average with 15 points, while Brandon Provost scored 17 to round out the UTPA top scorers in the win. It was Texas-Pan American's second straight home victory.

The Broncs have been shooting the ball well from the three-point line as they shoot 39% from beyond the arc. Texas-Pan American is led by Urbanus who average 15 points per game and is 18th in the country in three-point percentage at 52.2%. Petty averages 14.4 points per game, while Brandon Provost scored 11.6 per contest. All three guards start for UTPA.Matt Mierzycki is the team's leading rebounder at 5.6 per game.

The Broncs will be looking to cool off a NAU team that is red-hot after their initial 0-2 start. The Lumberjacks have won six straight games including a 91-50 over NAIA Bethany University last Saturday. They began the season with losses to Iowa State and Creighton. Their marquee win of the streak was an 88-74 road win at Pepperdine on November 28th.

The Lumberjacks go into Wednesday's game as the third best three-point shooting team in the country in terms of percentage as they hit 45.7%. NAU is also 14th in the country in overall shooting percentage at 49.8%. Senior guard Cameron Jones leads NAU in scoring at 16.4 points per game. Senior guard Eric Platt, the 22nd ranked three-point shooter in the nation, comes off the bench to average 14.1 per game. Sophomore guard Gabe Rogers, who is 16th in three-point percentage, averages 13.4 points each time out.

The Broncs and Lumberjacks last met on December 28th of last year with NAU squeaking past UTPA 64-59. Nick Weirmiller's potential go-ahead jumper fell short in the final minute as the Broncs attempted fell just short of rallying back from a 21-point deficit. The Broncs are 0-3 all-time against the Lumberjacks and are also looking for their first road win of the season on Wednesday.
